Camp AoF was created as an extension of Athletes of Faith — a place where movement, teamwork, and personal growth come together. Designed for youth of all backgrounds and skill levels, Camp AoF focuses on staying active, learning athletic fundamentals, building coordination, and developing the social and emotional skills that matter most in sports.
This interactive program is committed to helping young athletes build confidence, develop physical skills, and discover the joy of movement. Through active play, teamwork, and faith‑driven encouragement, we create an uplifting environment where every child can grow, connect, and thrive — both as athletes and as individuals.

Thomas Muniz brings a powerful blend of athletic expertise, youth development experience, and heart‑centered coaching to Camp AoF. Raised in San Diego and a proud alumnus of The Bishop’s School, Thomas was a four‑year varsity starter and the recipient of the Cindy Gronendyke Award, the school’s highest athletic honor — a testament to his leadership, character, and commitment to excellence.
Thomas is NFHS certified in Coaching, Heat Illness Prevention, Concussion Safety, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and is Red Cross CPR Certified, ensuring that every athlete trains in a safe, knowledgeable, and supportive environment. Over the past four years, he has coached Olympic‑level strength and conditioning techniques for middle and high school athletes, helping young people understand how to use their bodies functionally while building strength, speed, and force with proper form and confidence.
At The Bishop’s School, Thomas spent three years coaching Varsity Football and served as Head Coach for Junior Varsity, where he became known for developing athletes who are disciplined, resilient, and grounded in strong fundamentals. His coaching philosophy centers on teaching children how their bodies work, empowering them to move with intention, athleticism, and joy.
Thomas’s athletic journey includes playing collegiate football at Bowdoin College and two years of collegiate rugby at the University of San Diego, where he recently graduated with a double major in Finance and Accounting. His experience as a multi‑sport collegiate athlete shapes his ability to connect with young athletes who are learning to set goals, overcome challenges, and believe in their own potential.
At Camp AoF, Coach Thomas creates an uplifting, high‑energy environment where every child feels capable, strong, and supported. He believes that athletic development is about more than performance — it’s about confidence, discipline, and faith in what you can become.

With more than 20 years of experience in the early childhood field, Leia Muniz brings a rare blend of educational expertise, leadership, and genuine care to Camp AoF. Her career spans roles as a teacher, center director, and quality partner, where she has supported programs across the United States in building strong foundations for children’s learning, growth, and well‑being.
Leia holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Child, Family, and Development — a combination that reflects her lifelong commitment to understanding how children learn, move, and thrive.
As a mother of three, Leia is no stranger to the world of youth sports. She’s spent countless hours cheering from the sidelines, supporting her children through victories, challenges, and the everyday moments that shape young athletes. Her passion for movement, teamwork, and confidence‑building is at the heart of her coaching approach.
At Camp AoF, Leia creates an environment where every child feels welcomed, encouraged, and excited to grow. She believes that movement builds not only physical skills, but also resilience, joy, and faith — and she brings that belief into every session.
Each camp runs in a 4‑week series, with one 1‑hour session per week. Designed for athletes ages 7-12, sessions operate at a 1:15 coach‑to‑athlete ratio and are held at SDSU Mission Valley River Park. A Camp AoF t-shirt is included for all participants.

A high‑energy session designed to get kids outside, moving, and discovering the joy of active play. Children explore fun movement challenges, teamwork games, and confidence‑building activities that strengthen coordination and spark a love for staying active. Every moment is rooted in encouragement, resilience, and the belief that movement helps children grow inside and out.
This session is scheduled on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on September 9, 16, 23, and 30.

This skills‑based session helps young athletes build physical fundamentals while strengthening focus, perseverance, and emotional resilience. Through guided drills, partner activities, and positive coaching, children learn how movement supports both body and mindset. Participants leave feeling capable, confident, and proud of what they can accomplish.
This session is scheduled on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on October 7, 14, 21, and 28.

A collaborative session where kids learn how to communicate, cooperate, and support one another through movement‑based games and group challenges. Children practice leadership, sportsmanship, and problem‑solving while staying active and engaged. Every activity reinforces the Camp AoF belief that teamwork builds connection, character, and community.
This session is scheduled on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on November 3, 10, and 17, and on Thursday November 19.
